Jorge Ortiz, MD

Dr. Jorge Ortiz joins UBMD Surgery with many years as a transplant surgeon and professor of transplant surgery. Dr. Ortiz earned his medical degree from Albany Medical College and finished his surgical residency at North Shore University Hospital. He completed the organ transplantation fellowship program at Jackson Memorial Hospital of The University of Miami Medical Center. Dr. Ortiz has worked on a myriad of research projects and has secured many grants for his work. He has taught extensively, presenting countless lectures, seminars, and symposia to various medical audiences across the nation.  Dr. Ortiz has been published many times and contributed to numerous publications throughout his field of specialty.
