Lung Cancer Awareness Month

November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month. Over 2.2 million people worldwide will get lung cancer annually and lung cancer kills more people each year than any other cancer. In the Buffalo area, Yaron Perry, MD, FACS, of UBMD Surgery, provides minimally invasive surgery with innovative and personal care for lung and esophageal cancer as well as other benign and malignant thoracic conditions.

Dr. Perry is board certified in General and Thoracic Surgery, Clinical Professor of Surgery, and Chief of the Thoracic Surgery Division within the University at Buffalo. Dr. Perry heads the multidisciplinary team from medical oncology, radiation oncology, pulmonary medicine, radiology, molecular genetics, gastroenterology, and pathology in order to bring high quality and state-of-the-art care to patients with thoracic malignancies. He provides academic support to University at Buffalo with robotic expertise within his practice.  Dr. Perry is an advocate for increasing knowledge about the disease, its causes, and encouraging lung cancer screenings to help save lives.
