W. Alan Guo, MD
Dr. W. Alan Guo is an acute care surgeon with the American Board of Surgery, certified in both General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. He is an Associate Professor of Clinical Surgery at the University at Buffalo.
The first and the most important part of his job is the compassionate care of acutely and critically ill surgical patients. “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” is always his motto guiding his medical practice. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma, in addition to memberships of many other professional associations.
Dr. Guo has a bibliography of more than 40 peer-reviewed publications and multiple book chapters. He serves as an editorial board member for a major journal in surgery. He has received numerous awards and honors, including a recent visiting professorship to the Royal Australasian College of Surgery. He speaks English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
