James Lukan, MD
James Lukan, MD joined UBMD Surgery in 2004. Dr. Lukan is the Director of Vascular Services at Erie County Medical Center, Attending Staff Surgeon at ECMC, Clinical Associate Professor for UBMD Surgery, and Program Director for General Surgery Residency Program at University at Buffalo. Dr. Lukan holds Boards and certifications from the American Board of Surgery for General Surgery, Surgical Critical Care, and Vascular Surgery. His certifications include Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Burn Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support, and Advanced Trauma Life Support Instructor.
Dr. Lukan has been published 22 times in peer-reviewed journals and was involved with 25 abstracts and presentations. He has contributed to five book chapters and has been invited to lecture 16 times on topics relating to his expertise. Dr. Lukan has been involved with laboratory research, clinical studies, and is involved with teaching activities throughout his career with several currently ongoing.
Dr. Lukan belongs to several professional memberships including the American Burn Association, Eastern Vascular Society, Western New York Vascular Society, Medical Society of the State of New York, American Medical Association, American College of Surgeons, and the American Burn Association.
