UBMD Surgery’s Burn Surgeons are trained to work with severe burn wounds. Acute burn care occurs immediately after the injury and is delivered by a team of trauma surgeons who specialize in burn care. Patients with serious burn injuries will undergo a surgical procedure called debridement before any other surgeries are considered. Debridement involves cleaning the burn area and removing dead skin cells and vascularized bone. Our Burn Surgery team will work with you to make sure that your burn wound receives the care needed to heal properly.
UBMD Surgery performs all Burn Surgery procedures out of Erie County Medical Center.
