New Additions to UBMD Surgery

It is a pleasure to announce new additions of physicians to UBMD Surgery and hope you will welcome them as the opportunity or needs arise.

First, it is very exciting to announce and welcome the surgeons, providers, and staff from Delaware Surgical into UBMD Surgery.  General Physician P.C., who is committed to providing great services to patients and referring providers, will manage their Youngs Road  (Northtowns) clinic and staff.

Mark Falvo, MD will be named the Division Chief for the newly formed Delaware Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery (Colorectal Surgery). Dr. Falvo went to the University at Buffalo for his undergraduate education. He continued his journey at UB and completed both his medical degree in 2001 and residency training in 2006.

Evan Evans, MD went to Jamestown College for his undergraduate education; he then attended the University of Nebraska where he received his medical degree. He completed his residency training at Millard Fillmore Hospital in 1979.

Timothy Adams, MD went to the University at Buffalo for his undergraduate education. In June 2001, he received his medical degree from The State University of New York at Stony Brook.  Along, with Dr.Falvo, he completed his residency training at UB in 2006.

Steven Barone, MD completed his Bachelor’s at Bucknell University and his Master’s degree at the University at Buffalo. He completed his medical degree at two institutions; commencing at the Semmelwis University of Medicine and graduating in 2000 from the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, formerly known as the Finch University of Health Sciences. In 2007, Dr. Barone concluded his residency training at the University at Buffalo.

Kelly Marotta, NP and John Redmond, NP work closely with Dr. Falvo, Dr. Evans, Dr. Barone, and Dr. Adams.

In the Division of Transplant Surgery, UBMD Surgery welcomes Keisha Bonner, MD.  She will be joining Liise Kayler, MD (Division Chief) and Ahmad Zaaroura, MD performing renal transplants and related surgeries. Dr. Bonner received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of the West Indies, along with completing her Bachelors of Medicine and Surgery collectively in 2006. She finished her General Surgery residency training at Harlem Hospital Center in 2015.

In the Division of General Surgery/Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery, UBMD Surgery welcomes Chrissy Sanders, DO  who will join the team and will be primarily based at ECMC  working with the Synergy group doing bariatric and available thru UBMD Surgery clinic for general and MIS procedure.  Dr. Sanders attended the University of Pittsburgh where she received her Bachelor of Science degree. In 2008, she received her medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Sanders’ residency training was completed at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 2013. She is expected to complete her MBA in Health Care Management in May of 2019.

In addition, in the Division of General Surgery, UBMD Surgery welcomes Anne Edgerton, MD to provide acute care services this year at the Buffalo Medical General Center. Dr. Edgerton went to the University of Cincinnati College for her undergraduate education and then completed her medical degree there as well. She was a resident at the University of Kentucky, graduating in 2015.

We are also excited to announce the upcoming arrival of David Crooks, MD.  Dr. Crooks will be performing General Surgery at Eastern Niagara Medical Center in Lockport commencing in February 2019.  Dr. Crooks received his Bachelor’s at the University of Toronto and his medical degree from The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. His residency training was completed in 1993 at the Stanford University Hospital.
